Serie A Matchday 3

September 11, 2009

We have some interesting matchups this upcoming weekend.  Ronaldinho will be looking to shine, as Livorno travel to the San Siro to play the Rossoneri. Ronaldinho, who had a brilliant start to the previous season, will be looking to get in form, as his performances have been lacking their usual flair, as have Milan’s performances in general. Juventus will take on Lazio, with the Brazilian sensation Diego already making an impact. Diego has quickly become a fan favorite, despite being signed this summer. Inter will look to defend their title against Serie A newboys, Parma. My picks for these matchups are Inter, Juve, and Milan.

NOTE: Another match you may want to look at is the Roma – Siena match. Roma currently reside at the foot of the table.

Red Bulls Going to L.A.!

November 18, 2008
Juan Pablo Angel will be looking to lead the Red Bulls to their first MLS Cup.

Juan Pablo Angel will be looking to lead the Red Bulls to their first MLS Cup.

The Red Bulls slipped past Real Salt Lake. The Red Bulls won the match 1-0. THe game’s only goal came from Dave van den Bergh. John Wolyniec sent in a cross as Juan Pablo Angel ran to the near post drawing a man away from the goal. van den Bergh ran in and scored after the low cross took a deflection from Nick Rimando. The Red Bulls will be playing the Columbus Crew in L. A. this upcoming Sunday. This will be the MLS cup final. An interesting note is that the Crew are favored and they 1-2 against the Red Bulls this season, with a 6-4 aggregate, favoring the Red Bulls.

AC Milan In Good Form

November 12, 2008
Ronaldinho in great form for Milan.
Ronaldinho in great form for Milan.

Ac Milan continued their good form with a 1-1 draw at Lecce. Their new star Ronaldinho has scored 5 goals and has been returning to his best form. He scored at Lecce and scored a stunning game winner against Braga in the UEFA Cup. AC Milan are in second place in the Serie A right now. They are a point behind the defending champions, Inter Milan. Even though they were held up, AC Milan continues unbeaten in 12 games.

Who do you think will win the MLS Cup?

Red Bulls Update

November 12, 2008
Houston lifts the trophy as last years champion.

Houston lifts the trophy as last year's champion.

The New York Red Bulls knocked the defending champions, Houston Dynamo, out of the MLS Cup. The MLS has two games played. These two games have an accumulative aggregate score. The New York Red Bulls had a disappointing 1-1 draw at home. Juan Pablo Angel (NY) and Kei Kamara (HOU) both scored. The Red Bulls then had to face Houston in an away game. You would think that the Red Bulls would lose to the defending champs on the road, right? Unforunately for Houston, New York won the match 3-0! Juan Pablo Angel, Dane Richards, and John Wolyneic each scored. Danny Cepero, a rookie goalkeeper (NY) , had an outstanding performance. You could tell that Houston was feeling exasperated.

Red Bulls Playoff Miracle

October 28, 2008

The New York Red Bulls had a game against the Chicago Fire that could affect their playoff situation. They lost 5-2. Juan Pablo Angel and Macoumba Kandji scored for New York. Chris Rolfe (3), Brian McBride, and Daniel Woolard scored for Chicago. The New York side could only make the playoffs if DC United lost. Thanks to the Columbus Crew, the Red Bulls made the Playoffs and now get to play the Houston Dynamo, with the first leg at home. Hopefully, the Red Bulls won’t fall apart, like they did against Chicago.

Beckham Ready To Leave MLS?

October 28, 2008
David Beckham to go to Italy?

David Beckham to go to Italy?

David Beckham has been in talks with AC Milan for a possible loan move. The 33 year-old midfielder has been thought to consider this move to boost his status within his international squad. Another theory is simply that Beckham wants to stay in shape and possibly improve his form. This move would take him to a star studded AC Milan, including Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Kaka, Seedorf, and many more.
