Red Bulls Playoff Miracle

October 28, 2008

The New York Red Bulls had a game against the Chicago Fire that could affect their playoff situation. They lost 5-2. Juan Pablo Angel and Macoumba Kandji scored for New York. Chris Rolfe (3), Brian McBride, and Daniel Woolard scored for Chicago. The New York side could only make the playoffs if DC United lost. Thanks to the Columbus Crew, the Red Bulls made the Playoffs and now get to play the Houston Dynamo, with the first leg at home. Hopefully, the Red Bulls won’t fall apart, like they did against Chicago.

David Beckham to go to Italy?

David Beckham to go to Italy?

David Beckham has been in talks with AC Milan for a possible loan move. The 33 year-old midfielder has been thought to consider this move to boost his status within his international squad. Another theory is simply that Beckham wants to stay in shape and possibly improve his form. This move would take him to a star studded AC Milan, including Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Kaka, Seedorf, and many more.

NY Red Bulls Update

October 19, 2008

The Red Bulls beat top-of-the-table Columbus yesterday. Juan Pablo Angel scored two goals. The Red Bulls’ third goal came from an unexpected source. The backup goalie, Danny Cepero, who made his Red Bulls debut yesterday (coming on for a suspended Jon Conway),  became the first MLS goalie to score. He scored from just outside his own penalty area. It was a free kick that bounced on the eighteen yardline and bounced over a stunned Andy Gruenebaum. This match was a real morale booster for the Red Bulls.

AC Milan Thrash Sampdoria

October 19, 2008

AC Milan defeated Sampdoria 3-0. Ronaldinho, who has anticipated a return to his best form, scored two of the goals. He opened up the scoring in the second half with a penalty kick. His next goal came from a through from Mathieu Flamini. Ronaldinho’s shot went to the far post  and into the lower corner. The third and final goal came in the last minute of regulation time from Fillipo Inzaghi, who’s finish seemed almost identical to Ronaldinho’s.

Andriy Shevchenko Goal

October 4, 2008

Andriy Shevchenko, better known as Sheva, left Chelsea to come back to Milan. After being heavily criticized for two woeful years at Stamford Bridge, the Ukranian striker came back to Milan. After his first game back for Milan, I thought that Sheva couldn’t make a come back. Sheva just needed to warm up. here is his goal for Milan against Fcu Zurich in the UEFA Cup.
